Yes, we’re moving (FAQ)

Yes, it is true - Carolina Beer Temple is moving to a BIGGER and BETTER location and will be offering so much more than we do today.

Below is a list of Frequently asked questions and answers:

Q: Where are you moving to?

A: We’re moving a short two blocks away to a newly developed building now known as Ames Station. Our new address will be 215 N. Ames St., Suite 1000

The new Carolina Beer Temple under construction.

Q: When will your last day in the current building be?

A: Join us for a BIG closing party on Saturday, January 25th! We’ll have draft beer specials and free give-a-ways!

Q: How do I get to the new location?

A: If you are facing the current Carolina Beer Temple from Trade St., follow Charles St. to the first stop sign at Ames Street. Take a right and cross the railroad tracks - you can’t miss us on the left! OR if you park in the railroad parking lot, go all the way to the end and cross the street - that’s us!

Q: Why are you moving?

A: It’s been a great run in the former post office building, but it’s time for bigger and better things. We’ve outgrown our existing space and need more room for bigger events and many more options (food, cocktails, private event space, ice cream etc... ). Our new space is going to have everything (see more below)!

Q: When will you be open in the new place?

A: These things are always tricky as there are so many variables that need to come together. Keep an eye out for announcements in late February, but we plan to certainly be open no later than March of 2025.

Q: What is the Ames Street Marketplace?

A: When we move we will be moving into a +/-6,800 square foot space. This space is 425% larger than our existing building (not including the mezzanine)!!! With all that space we decided to make the Carolina Beer Temple even more incredible by not only offering an awesome taproom and bottle shop experience, but to offer a restaurant, cocktail bar, gaming store, ice cream shop and more!

Q: Will you have a kitchen?

A: Yes! As part of the Ames Street Marketplace, local chef Erick Crawford of the Chop Chop Red Pot food truck will have a brick-and-mortal spot located in our Marketplace. They will offer southern inspired street food and much more. Check out their website for some ideas of what they will offer at our new spot. These guys won Food Truck of the Year in 2024, as awarded by Unpretentious Palate (the Uppy awards), and we couldn’t be more excited that they will be part of our overall operation!

Q: How many taps will you have at the new space?

A: We will have a similar line-up to what we offer today, but we will be expanding our tap selection from 26-30 taps. It is our philosophy that if you want to offer great beer and keep it fresh and keep taps rotating often you shouldn’t have too many taps. 30 is pretty close to our limit so we can continue to offer a great craft beer experience on every visit!

Q: Will you offer cocktails?

A: Yes! The Ames Street Marketplace will feature a bar named The Back Corner featuring spirited and zero proof cocktails. We will be sharing more details about them soon, but please visit their website and/or follow them on Facebook and Instagram.

A: YES!!!

Q: Will you accept Apple Pay?

A: YES!!!

Q: Will I be able to open a tab without you having to hold onto my credit card until I tab out?

A: YES!!!

Q: Are you bringing flights back?

A: Yes! Flights will be available many days and times of the week, but there will be some limitations on availability.

Q: Will you be able to host private events?

A: Absolutely! Our new location will feature a mezzanine that will be approximately 1,100 square feet in size. The mezzanine can be rented for private parties & events. We will also be utilizing the mezzanine for lots of exciting things like Beer Pairings, Wine Pairings, Murder Mystery Dinners and much more!

Q: How’s the parking?

A: There are about 60 spaces on the property and lots of street parking in the area - we’re looking forward to a much better parking situation at our new spot!

Q: Will you have games?

A: Trailside Games & Hobbies will be part of the Ames Street Marketplace. They will be bringing you the ultimate in tabletop game experiences. Board games, card games and more! They will be hosting tournaments and game demos often. They will be an exciting part of our Marketplace! Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram

Q: What is your seating capacity going to be?

A: Our seating capacity will be over 350+. In addition to ample outdoor seating in the courtyard, plus we plan to add a deck in the future too!
